With engraved title [frontisp.] page 'Museum van Natuurlijke Historie' and 41 engraved and hand-coloured plates depicting a wide variety of mammals, including monkeys, bats, dogs, wolves, horses, llamas, deer, elephant, rhinoceros, and others. Includes frontispiece and anthropological illustration titled 'De man' and 'De vrouw'. Text in Dutch. Top of spine bit restored with tape, hinges bit weak. Paper foxed throughout in the text leaves; 1 or 2 marginal tears. The hand-coloured plates are in very good condition, with vivid colours and minimal wear. See photos for examples.
